You could be wasting a lot of time trying to understand hours entered on timecards, hunting down missing time, or tracking “lost opportunity” hours. HeavyJob has a simple solution to avoid back and forth conversations with the field and office by showing your foremen or supervisors that a single letter in front of their time can represent attendance or non-productive hours, and clear up the confusion.
These codes can be quickly added to your time. When you select the employee, and the cost code, there are boxes to represent your regular, overtime, and double time. Below those boxes is an option to expand a guide of those attendance codes and what each code means. With this guide available every time you enter hours, you will never forget which codes you can use. Simply click the ‘+’ next to the code, and the application will add it to your time.
There are many use cases for reporting attendance or non-productive hours to the office that can be reported on, or used to track cost or lost opportunity in HeavyJob. Understanding your labor and equipment costs better can help you make decisions moving forward.
For employees, this can be used to explain why an employee is out on vacation, paid bereavement, COVID, or late to the job. These codes can be customized to your needs, can be excluded from cost, and can be excluded from the export to accounting if you only want to track certain codes in HeavyJob. Equipment codes can be used to represent downtime, idle time, transport time, etc.
Supplementing these codes with the employee notes or the diary, you can get a clear picture of what happened during the day, and how to address hours designated with these codes.
ProTip: Always lead recording your hours with the paid hours, and follow with the coded hours. For example, “5W3” could denote 5 hours worked, and 3 hours were affected by a weather delay.
