Maintenance Request is a great communication tool that just got even better with a recent update. With it, anyone from operators to foremen to yard hands to shop managers can note issues with the fleet, and create an alert in the Equipment360 Manager system. While it is available as a built-in option for your HCSS Field users, the standalone web app (available from any device with an internet connection) at mr.hcssapps.com just added some new features based on customer feedback and suggestions.
These new improvements include an improved user interface, the ability to retrieve a status history for each piece of equipment, and the benefit of seeing if there are already open requests for equipment. You can also use the app to quickly update your equipment meter readings.
Here is a quick look at the new interface, or you can just log in to your maintenance request app at mr.hcssapps.com to view the live changes.
Your HCSS Credentials administrator can set up a Maintenance Request group, or add Maintenance Request access (available in HCSS Labs) to any of your users.
The Implementation team would suggest starting with a small group, and setting defined expectations for users – for example, requests sent in should be for issues that the shop should address in the next week. If it’s an emergency, still contact the shop directly, but Maintenance Request helps start a paper trail, show who requested the repair, what job they were on, and when. And as they say, often the pictures attached are worth a thousand words in describing the issue. The images you send in will stay with the equipment, and the work order to address the request.
