The HCSS Telematics team has been launching updates every two weeks like clockwork, and you might have missed 2 very quick additions that could save you lots of time.

The first new feature adds the ability for you to get directions to a piece of equipment from the HCSS Telematics interface. By selecting the equipment, and clicking the “Actions” dropdown, you can launch directions via Google Maps by selecting “Get Directions.”

In this same menu, is our second new feature that has many benefits. If you are in a theft situation, and you need the most current data, but your equipment has not sent its location in a few hours, you can click on Actions, and you will find a “Send Ping” Action. This will ping the equipment and get the most current information from the equipment immediately. The only device this is not available for is a satellite asset tracker, but all of our heavy equipment and over the road equipment have this capability.

If your mechanics have telematics on their iPads, they can also use this function to send a ping, and confirm the location of the equipment before heading across town to service the equipment.
