Question:
“I’ve heard there is an exam that tests HeavyBid Certifications. Is that true? How do I know if I should take it?”
The Chief Says:
HCSS recently officially launched the HCSS HeavyBid Certification Exam. The exam is an online, proctored test with over one hundred questions that test the candidate’s knowledge of HeavyBid and civil construction estimating. Anyone who is interested in finding out about the exam, what’s involved, how to sign up for it, etc. should go to the following website: https://www.hcss.com/certification-page/
There are many reasons why someone would want to take and pass the HCSS HeavyBid Certification Exam. But I think that the most important one is that the certificate communicates that the holder can walk into any office that uses HeavyBid as their estimating software and contribute at a high level with very little in the way of introduction or instruction.
Read the information on the site to determine if it is right for you, and then download the Candidate Handbook for the HeavyBid Certification Examination. The handbook contains all the specifics of what the exam is like, how much it costs, and the benefits of being a certificate holder. Most importantly, it will explain how the exam works with an online proctor. Once you’ve read the handbook you’ll have a good idea if you’re ready to take the exam.
The handbook will help you understand what topics you need to brush up on in HeavyBid so that there are no surprises. You’ll go back to the same website and select the link at the bottom that takes you to the Registration page. At the registration page, you’ll sign up for the exam, pay the fee, and schedule the exam with the online proctor at a time that is convenient for you.
If you have a strong understanding of HeavyBid and a solid experience in civil estimating I would recommend looking into the Certification Exam.
